Frontier Lands of Papua New Guinea – Cairns to Madang
Departing from either Cairns or Madang, this voyage is an opportunity to immerse into the wild and rugged scenery of Papua New Guinea that is rarely seen and mostly inaccessible by land. Papua New Guinea is home to the largest area of intact rainforest outside of the Amazon. This voyage uncovers little-visited islands, volcanic mountains and pristine rainforest wilderness areas forged by mighty rivers. Sail past spectacular Kadovar Islands, known for its volcanic activity. Venture up the mighty Sepik River to see riverfront village life little changed in hundreds of years. Buy traditional crafts such as masks and carvings at the village market of Bien. Snorkel, swim or dive on vibrant reefs at the Fly Islands and visit the unique Bubbling Springs Reef at Dobu.

Sail north aboard Coral Adventurer as we embark on a 16-night expedition through the remote and less visited outer islands of Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and into the captivating region of Bougainville. Along the way experience striking landscapes, pristine islands and reefs, unique wildlife and small island communities lost in time with rich cultural traditions to share. Climb spectacular Mount Yasur volcano at Tanna Island, followed by an exhilarating dive and snorkel around Nguna Island. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of local villages with captivating performances like the women’s Water Dance at Marau Sound, and the famous Snake Dance of Rah Island. Partake in conservation efforts by helping release turtle hatchlings at the Arnarvon Islands, visit historic World War II battle sites and learn about Malaita’s headhunting past. We spend two days in the rarely visited Autonomous Region of Bouganville to explore its cultural and natural wonders and tumultuous history. Our voyage closes in New Britain’s historic Rabaul – learn about the catastrophic eruption of Mount Tavurvur in 1994 and see a view of the harbour from the volcano observatory.

Raja Ampat & Spice Islands
The rich history and diverse marine life of Raja Ampat and Spice Islands are brought to life on this 18-night voyage. Aboard Coral Geographer retrace the ancient trade routes of spice merchants trading Chinese silks for cloves, Indian cotton for nutmeg and Arabian coffee for pepper. Explore some of the hundreds of rarely visited islands of Raja Ampat whose waters harbour over 75% of the world’s coral and fish species. At Cenderawasih Bay, swim with the gentle whale sharks – the largest living non-mammalian vertebrate – in what guests describe as a ‘once in a lifetime experience.’ Walk through vibrant village markets. Experience a traditional welcome at Banda Neira where our ship is serenaded by kora kora canoes. Enjoy the view over sunset drinks at 17th century Dutch Fort Belgica.
